In light of the what we have all experienced this year with the Covid 19 pandemic, Robocup took on a different form to previous competitions. This year, competitors worked to produce an online entry to one of four challenges below:
Challenge 1: Create a piece of artwork designed purely by robots for exhibition at Te Papa.
Challenge 2: The year 2050, create a prototype of a self-driving car as a working model driving through a city block.
Challenge 3: Create a theatrical story to present and entertain the audience. Use costumes, music and props.
Challenge 4: Create a HelperBot to help people in everyday tasks.
Challenge 5: Develop a new robotic creature to showcase how it works and the special features it has.
Teams were judged on their ideas/planning development, the build, programming, teamwork, and video presentation.
St Margaret’s is absolutely thrilled to announce that we had two entries, and both were placed as finalists.
