This beautiful photo represents intergenerational learning. Year 3 students at SMC had the joy of meeting their honorary grandparents to set the scene for their Past & Present Social Science Inquiry. T3A is an adult class to build confidence in digital technology and today they also filled the role of honorary grandparents to the Year 3 girls.

The Year 3 girls presented them with a lovely hand-written letter about themselves and a stunning piece of artwork, incorporating 3-dimensional shading and great maths fractions. The girls want to find out what it was like when the older adults went to school, even how they got to school and what they did during recess times.

The girls have crafted a questionnaire which they will send by email. This will be great practice for the older adults on opening attachments and marking up an image to reply.

The learning doesn't stop there! The Year 3 girls with teach the older adults what it is like to be a computer scientist and teach them how to use a computer coding program called Scratch Junior.
